amateur theatre group

To put it simply, we're a very fun group of eight regular performers. We take the liberty of presenting our acts in a very lighthearted and self-interpreted way. So far, we usually only rehearse for our improvisational play for two months before the annual fair in Eschdorf. An improvisational play is nothing like a typical theatrical performance with fixed scripts and scripts. The word "Stegreif" (improvisation) actually comes from the words "Steg" and "Reif," which originally refers to a rope loop used for mounting horses. So, "aus dem Stegreif" (impromptu) simply means getting on a horse without thinking about it too much. Just hop on, naturally, and go. That's also our theme: read the script, forget almost everything, and perform for the enjoyment of the audience and, of course, ourselves. If we ended up performing everything exactly as written in the script, it wouldn't be any fun anymore. We've chosen fairy tales as the themes for our improvisational plays. So far, we've performed the following fairy tales:

  • 2006: Hansel and Gretel
  • 2007: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • 2008: Mother Hulda
  • 2009: Little Red Riding Hood
